The Star Festival “Tanabata Wish” is returning to the Japanese Village, Ayutthaya!
The Legend of Tanabata (七夕): Tanabata originates from a deeply romantic legend of “Princess Orihime (the Weaver Princess)” and “Hikoboshi (the Cowherd)”. Separated by the Heavenly River (Amanogawa/The Milky Way), their profound love allows them to cross a bridge formed by a flock of magpies to reunite just once a year—on the night of July 7th. This magical night is celebrated by the Japanese as a night of miracles and destiny, where people write their wishes on colorful Tanzaku to send their hearts’ desires up to the stars.
Let’s learn the history of Thai-Japanese relations and indulge in the heartwarming atmosphere of star wishing throughout this July.
